Traffic marshals needed for the parade!

Part of our carnival tradition is the parade of floats, which wind their way around the village and end up at the carnival ground. Parades such as this are becoming increasingly rare but we think it completes our celebratory day!

We can’t run a parade though without closing the roads and that means we need your help – we need marshals to guide the floats, keep traffic off the roads, and direct people to the car parks.

Can you help? Please contact chair@knockholtcarnival.org.uk and we’ll be eternally grateful!

Fireworks 2015 went with a bang!

What a fantastic display this evening! Really beautiful fireworks and some unusual ones too. Thank goodness the weather held out for us. As usual a fantastic atmosphere, despite the mud.

Thanks to everyone who came to support this brilliant charity event and to our amazing team of volunteers, without whom this event would not be possible. We are also grateful to the Edmonson family for use of the fields and to Westerham Cars for their in kind sponsorship.

Five days until the fireworks!

It was a fine evening for trick-or-treating, and then the very next day the mist rolled in making Knockholt look like the setting for Silent Hill.  Let’s hope the spookiness is behind us as we look forwards to our firework display this weekend!

We’re looking forward to seeing the guy that our primary school children have built, and the huge bonfire it will sit upon.  We’re looking forward to eating fish and chips and burgers, and drinking coffee.  We’re looking forward to putting on our wellies and warm coats.  And most of all we’re looking forward to …

Make sure you get your tickets today – you save money in advance! Full details are available here.

Yes, we know that the Beer Festival is all about the beer (and cider, and wine …), but we’re looking forward to the pizza as well!  We don’t often get to experience a proper takeaway pizza in Knockholt, so the arrival of Pizza Italy should be pretty exciting!

Come for the beer, stay for the pizza.  And more beer!

Brew Buddies beers at the Beer Festival

We are pleased to say that Brew Buddies (http://brew-buddies.co.uk/) has two of its beers featured at the Beer Festival this Saturday – the Pilgrim IPA, and the Mosaic Pale Ale.  Have a look at their tasting notes before you come!

The Beer Festival is in the Village Centre from 12:30 on Saturday – come along even if you’re not drinking, because we have live music, an amazing pizza van, and hopefully fine weather to enjoy!

Village Picnic this Sunday

Don’t forget it’s the village picnic this Sunday, from 1pm on Knockholt Recreation Ground. This is a free event, open to all residents, family and friends. Bring your own picnic and then enjoy a variety of organised games for children and families which will start from 2pm. There are some water games so bring a towel too!

This wonderful community event, organised by Carole Moody, parish councillor and member of Knockholt Carnival Charities Committee, was a huge success last year and we are sure it will be lots of fun again this time round.  Do come along and join in the fun with your friends and neighbours!

The sun has got his hat on … Knockstock is tomorrow!

IMG_7842[1]It looks like it’s going to rain on Sunday … but Saturday looks bright and sunny,  so make sure you’re out and about to make the most of it.   Is there anything happening in the village, we wonder.

Yes! Knockstock is back, and we’ve got music and fun for all the family.  Make sure you know how to get tickets, where to park, what time the acts are on, and what to bring … we recommend suncream, a picnic blanket and money for ice creams.  Lots of ice creams!

Of course, we can’t guarantee the weather – but we can guarantee an amazing day out.  We’ll see you there!
