In the run-up to Carnival 2016 we asked the children of St Katherine’s to design us a cover for our programme and we had loads of great entries! We have chosen a winner and will be sending the programmes off to print soon, so please keep an eye out to see if your design was chosen!
We’ll be displaying the entries at the organisers’ tent at Carnival, so make sure you pop by to see them.
Part of our carnival tradition is the parade of floats, which wind their way around the village and end up at the carnival ground. Parades such as this are becoming increasingly rare but we think it completes our celebratory day!
We can’t run a parade though without closing the roads and that means we need your help – we need marshals to guide the floats, keep traffic off the roads, and direct people to the car parks.

We are already looking forward to our Carnival on 9 July, and a large part of that is the parade through the village. Having now chosen our theme – Cartoons and Comics – we’re taking bookings for floats, cars, marching bands, and even horses!
