Getting the beers lined up

Our friend, The Craft Beer Man, has been researching beers for you all for the last year and he thinks he’s found some belters! It’s a hard job, but someone’s got to do it …

Westerham Brewery will be well known to all those who have been to previous beer festivals, but this year there are four new breweries being introduced – including a microbrewery from the Oak Tree pub in Sevenoaks.

Watch out for announcements for the others over the next couple of weeks!

It’s Carnival Day!

The Carnival Field is looking superb, houses have bunting up throughout the village, and the sun is shining. It’s going to be a fantastic day!

We can’t wait to see you in a few hours. Make sure you know when the roads are closed, where the parade goes, and don’t forget your money for buying ice creams and tombola tickets!

We hope you have a great day!

Our parade has some great surprises this year …

We can’t tell you what they are otherwise they wouldn’t be surprises!

Only two people on the committee know the details of all the floats, making sure that there’s intense rivalry between groups to produce the most innovative and spectacular displays.  The parade organisers collected the themes a year ago to ensure that there was no overlap, and now it’s only a day until you can see what everyone’s come up with!

We can tell you there’ll be music, there’ll be dancing, there’ll be walkers and drivers … but beyond that, you’ll have to come and see for yourself.  Work out where you’re going to stand on the parade route now!

All the World’s a Parade

We’re currently sifting through the parade entry forms, working out the order, making sure that children aren’t walking behind horses, music isn’t too loud in neighbouring floats, the parade will carry on moving at a good pace.  There are a good variety of themes!  We can’t wait to see you all on the route on the fourteenth!

Circus at St Katharine’s!

A little shout out for our friends at St Katharine’s School Knockholt, who will be welcoming the circus for a fundraising event on Sunday 20th May. A fun-packed comedy show for all the family Happy’s Circus provides great entertainment. There will also be a BBQ, Games, Rides and Face Painting. Doors open 12 noon, seats at 1.30pm for a 2pm start. Do go along and support our local school. Tickets cost £8 each or £28 for a family of four (babies go free) and are available from Knockholt and Halstead village shops or direct from the school. For enquiries call 07787 550 204.

We’d love to see you walking, rolling, riding or sliding through the streets of Knockholt as part of our carnival parade.  The parade is a huge part of the day, and every carnival is remembered by the amazing ideas and craftwork that’s on display.  We are taking bookings for this year’s parade – make sure you reserve your theme by sending back a Booking Form today!
